Where is the Friendship Center located?

  • From I-83 - EXIT 30A Colonial Park.  Go east on Rt. 22 Jonestown Road past the Colonial Park Mall on left.  At third intersection, turn left on Devonshire Road.  Proceed 1/4 mile and turn right onto Commons Drive. The Friendship Center is straight ahead.
  • From I-81S - EXIT Paxtonia.  Exit ramp to Rt. 22, Jonestown Rd.  Turn right (west) on Rt. 22 and go 1 ½ miles to Devonshire Road intersection. Turn right on Devonshire Road.  Proceed 1/4 mile and turn right onto Commons Drive.  The Friendship Center is straight ahead.
  • From I-81N - EXIT Paxtonia.  Turn left off exit ramp to Rt. 22, Jonestown Road.  Turn right (west) on Rt. 22 and go 1 ½ miles to Devonshire Road intersection. Turn right on Devonshire Road.  Proceed 1/4 mile and turn right onto Commons Drive.  The Friendship Center is straight ahead.

Do you need to be a resident to use the Friendship Center or to become a member?
The Friendship Center is open to everyone – non-residents and residents of Lower Paxton Township. We offer a variety of options to suit your lifestyle and budget. Additionally, anyone can become a member.

What payment options are available for memberships?
You may pay for your membership using cash, personal check (with photo ID), Visa, or Master Card.

We also offer an Annual Membership Payment Plan, which is directly debited from your bank account. The payment plan, also known as an Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT), is only available for the purchase or renewal of annual memberships.   The monthly fee is automatically deducted from your personal checking or savings account.

Our monthly memberships (3, 6, and 9) must be paid in full and in advance.

How old must my child be to stay at the Friendship Center without adult supervision?
Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 16 years old or older to use the Friendship Center facilities.  Children, eight years of age and under shall be accompanied by a parent or guardian 16 years old or older at all times unless the child is in a supervised recreation program, or is under the supervision of the babysitters in the babysitting room.
 
Are all Members and day pass users allowed to use the Fitness Center and FitZone?
Members are encouraged to complete an orientation session with a staff member.   These orientations are free to members.  The Fitness Center is only for members/day pass users 13 years or older.  The FitZone is for members/day pass users 11 years or older.

What types of programs are offered at the Friendship Center?
We offer a variety of programs for all ages and interests. Choose from preschool, youth and teen, aerobics, spin-it, aquacise, adult sports and leisure, bus trips, arts and crafts, sport leagues, swim lessons,  and much more. Members of the Friendship Center receive discounted rates on most programs.

When is the Program Guide Published?
The Program Guide is the comprehensive source of information for all activities offered at the Friendship Center and in the park system.  It is published quarterly for winter, spring, summer, and fall, and is mailed to Lower Paxton Township residents and members of the Friendship Center. It contains all of the programs offered along with the dates and fees.

If you do not receive a copy of the Program Guide, pick one up at the Friendship Center or ask to be placed on our mailing list so that you don’t miss out on your favorite activities.  There are activities and programs for every age group, regardless of ability level.
