Can I get a refund for a recreation program or class?
Full refunds will be gladly issued if the Parks and Recreation Office
is notified before the first day of any multi-session program. A
prorated refund will be issued for any requests after the first
class date from the date the office is notified. Refunds for one-day
activities and all bus/van trips are not possible during or after
the event. Full bus trip refunds are given if substitute(s) can
be found at any time before the trip date. If substitutes cannot be found, refunds can only be given up to
four weeks before the trip date. Refunds take about 3 weeks to
process and are mailed to the original payer.
Why would my program be cancelled?
All programs take place assuming minimum numbers are met. If registration
does not meet the stated minimum, we will cancel the program within
24 hours before it begins. In this case, participants
receive a full-refund. The Friendship Center and the Parks and Recreation
Department reserve the right to cancel activities.
Will I be notified if I am accepted when I mail or fax
my registration?
We will be happy to notify you if a self-addressed stamped envelope
is included. If not, no news is good news.
How can I register for program?

- BY MAIL — Complete the registration form
below and mail with payment to the L.P. Parks and Recreation,
5000 Commons Drive, Harrisburg PA, 17112. Please include a self-addressed,
stamped envelope if you want confirmation of your registration.
Note: Mail-in registrations are not processed until 5:00 p.m. on
the specified day of registration unless participant phones in
on the day registration begins to activate registration earlier.
- BY PHONE — Call with your credit card
(Visa or Master Card) registration, during operating hours - 657-5635.
- WALK-IN — Registrations accepted at the
Friendship Center.
Are gift certificates available?
Give the gift of health for birthdays, holidays or special occasions!
Gift certificates are available in dollar amounts and may be used
towards passes, activities, personal training, massage and programs.
Does the Friendship Center have Birthday Party Packages?
Yes! We have three party packages to choose from.
Splash and Dash - one hour in
each area (no instruction). Lowered basketball hoop for our
“little” guest. You coordinate activity schedule
and times. Includes: pool, basketball, and room.

Stay and Play – one hour in each area (no
instruction). You coordinate activity schedule and times.
Game choices: kickball, soccer, football or volleyball (equipment
included). Includes: game court, room, and pool.

Can I purchase discount tickets to amusement parks and
ski resorts at the Friendship Center?
Tickets are sold at the Parks and Recreation Department at the Friendship
Center between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through
Friday only. Cash, Visa and Master Card are the only form
of payment accepted. During the summer months select from
amusement parks and other destinations. Over the winter, discount
ski tickets to area resorts are available for purchase. Our
ticket prices and locations are available in our Program Guide,
our website and by calling the Friendship Center.
